How to delete pages from a PDF on an iPhone
Since iOS 15 the Files app can remove pages from a PDF on an iPhone through a page sidebar most people never open. It saves straight into the file with no confirmation, so the browser tool is worth knowing when you would rather see the result before it is written.
The built-in way on an iPhone or iPad: Files
- 01
Open the PDF in the Files app.
- 02
Tap the page thumbnail sidebar button at the top left (it looks like a page with a list beside it) to show the page thumbnails.
- 03
Tap ⋯ on the page you want to remove and choose Delete. Repeat for other pages.
- 04
The change is saved into the file immediately, so work on a copy if you might want the page back.
Where it falls short
- No confirmation and no preview of the resulting document.
- One page at a time; there is no multi-select delete.
- Requires iOS 15 or later; older versions show the PDF read-only.
Do it in the browser instead
The same Delete pages tool as the main page, running in Safari on an iPhone or iPad. Nothing is installed and the file is processed on your device.
