Match image, or a standard page size?

Match image makes each page exactly the size of the picture on it. Nothing is scaled, nothing is cropped, and no white borders appear. This is the right choice for screenshots, receipts, and anything that will be read on a screen rather than printed — though it produces a document whose pages are all different sizes.

A4 or Letter puts every image on a uniform page, centred and scaled to fit inside the margin you choose. Images are never cropped — a photo that does not match the page proportions gets white space rather than losing its edges. Choose this whenever the document will be printed.

Order matters, and orientation is automatic

Images become pages in the order they appear in the list, so arrange them before you convert. On a standard page size, Auto orientation gives each image the page shape that wastes least space — landscape photos get landscape pages, portrait ones get portrait — while forcing portrait or landscape keeps every page the same way up.
