We take copyright seriously. We also hold almost nothing that could be taken down — here is why, and what to do if you believe something on this site infringes your rights.

We do not host a document library

PDF Spree is a set of tools, not a file host. There is no public directory of uploaded documents, no sharing feature, and no search over other people’s files.

Most tools never upload anything at all — the document is processed inside your own browser. Where a tool does use our server, the file exists only for the length of the operation and, without an account, is deleted automatically within a day. Nothing a user processes is retained, indexed, or made available to anyone else. See how we handle your files.

Submitting a notice

If you own a copyright, or are authorised to act for the owner, and believe material on this site infringes it, send a written notice to legal@pdfspree.com with the subject line DMCA notice.

To be actionable, your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or someone authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If several works are covered, a representative list is enough.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — a URL, ideally.
  4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.

Incomplete notices may not be actionable, and we may ask you for the missing parts before doing anything.

Counter-notice

If material of yours was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate federal court.

Notices sent in bad faith

Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please be sure before you send.

Repeat infringers

PDF Spree will block access for users who repeatedly use the service to infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances. Related obligations are set out in our terms of service.
