What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to store, and hands back on your next visit. Related technologies — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels — do much the same job, and this policy covers all of them.
What we use, and why

We do not use cookies to build a profile of you across the web ourselves. Where advertising providers do so, that is described in their own policies and governed by the consent you give below.
Cookies and your files
No cookie has access to a document you process. Browser-based tools hold your file in page memory for the length of the operation and nowhere else — it is never written to storage that a script could later read back. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Your choices
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask before setting any non-essential cookie, and analytics and advertising scripts do not load until you agree. You can reopen that choice at any time from the link in the footer.
Outside those regions you can still opt out:
- Turn off personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings.
- Opt out of participating third-party vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this per-site.
Blocking cookies will not stop the tools working. They are not required to process a document.
